Carolea is an olive cultivar that probably originates in Lucania and Calabria. Typical olive tree of the south, the Carolea is also called Calabrese due to its strong identity with this region. The cultivar is also typical of the morphological characteristics of the Calabrian and Lucanian territory, characterized by steep slopes and mountains. In fact, it can be grown up to 800 meters above sea level on stony soils.
